Clear Creek Canyon

This past week we drove past Golden, Co and through Clear Creek Canyon Park. It is just amazing to me how the earth can go from flat prairies to rolling hills to towering mountains in a just a couple blinks of an eye. It was such a beautiful drive that I didn't even think to stop to take any photos. We found a trail but it only led to some rock climbing spots. We don't have any climbing gear (yet ;) so we hiked along the river instead. We eventually drove back into Golden and found a trail going up Mt. Galbraith. Going up was "meh" since it was so close to the highway but once we got toward the top and into some woods it was awesome and well worth the hike.

We also made our first big "adventuring" purchase a couple weeks ago. We bought a backpacking tent! We also really wanted to get some ski passes for this winter but they are so dang expensive. I guess we will just have to start saving now for passes next winter. Ha!

Anyway.
