Welp, today I was in our front yard from sun up to sun down. I witnessed good friends lend a helping hand, our neighbor kid buy a light saber and play with it in his yard, a recent graduate get really excited about a 4th gen iPod then later walk down the street listening to it with a big smile on his face, a rude old lady complain about our pricing then buy things anyway, a girl fall off her scooter and her older brother carry her home, an accident where a car ended up in someone's yard, and lots of food come off our grill and eaten by lots of friends. Overall it was a pretty good day!

We are brave.
Jeremy keeps telling me, "We are brave." But I don't feel brave.
We are exactly two weeks from moving and I keep getting increasingly more emotional. We finally started sorting through all of our things last week to figure out what we need to sell and what we can keep and I have cried every day since. I don't want to hold on to our material things too tightly, but every item has its own story and I hate to let it all go. We are also in the final days of being able to spend time with loved ones and I can barely handle it. I knew it would be hard but... damn. Now that's its here I am not being as strong as I thought I could be.
Thankfully I have a husband who knows how to deal with my overly sentimental and emotionally unstable self and just takes it in stride. He has been a rock during this whole process and the one and only reason why I haven't just screamed JUST KIDDING I'M NOT MOVING! Every time I cry he's there to support me and every time I get excited about our future he's there to be excited with me. There is no way I could do this without him.
Anyway, in remembrance of our beloved first apartment together I tried to take some snaps. It's sort of in chaos right now so these will have to do.

Happy Independence Day! I hope you got to enjoy your day with loved ones like I did. Nothing like a good dose of good food and good friends!

I took my mom to an aquarium.
My mom was here in Illinois from California this past week and it was wonderful! It was just so good to be able to see her and spend time with her since it rarely happens. I tried to be the most doting and darling daughter that I could possibly be so that she would remember why she loves me so much and realize that she just has to move away from California and be near me once we move to Colorado. I think my plan is working.
One of our goals while my mom was here was to find her a laptop and let me tell you, if any of you ever thought I was indecisive then you have not met my mother. She finally decided on one after much contemplation and many trips to the store AND she ended up getting us a new camera, yes, a real life camera! Yay!
Well anyway, living in central Illinois is not as exciting as one may believe so we decided to take my mom and sister to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Not only have I not been in quite some time, it also happened to be a free admission day on my only day off so I just knew it was meant to be. Ah, but alas, after the 2 hour drive into the city plus the cost of parking plus the 1.5 hour wait in the heat to get into the aquarium I wasn't feeling quite as gung-ho about it, but we tried to make the most of it and still enjoyed ourselves. I was at least able to play with our new camera and get a few shots, huzzah!
